"Whether you think you can or you think you cannot, you are right."

This famous adage applies to negotiation as well.  If you are entering negotiations with a lack of confidence or an attitude that it won't turn out the way you would like it to, you may be right.  Preparing well builds confidence and thinking through possible strategies ahead of time allows you to feel more relaxed during the negotiation because you have planned.  Asking good questions, keeping an open mind to learning new information and being creative about incorporating this information into your agreement will bring you the successful outcomes you want.
